Radix Salviae Miltorrhizae, called Danshen in Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM), has been used to treat cardiovascular disease for more than a millennium. It is the root and rhizomes of the plant Salvia Miltiorrhiza Bunge of the Lamiaceae family. Pharmacological studies showed that nonpolar compounds such as tanshinone IIA, tanshinone I, and cryptotanshinone are active components with a variety of biological activities including antiischemic, antioxidant, and antitumor properties.

In this work, quantification of tanshinones in herbal plant based on the Chinese Pharmacopoeia method was performed using a 爱游戏平台注册登录 LC 300 HPLC system, an Epic^™ C18 column, and SimplicityChrom^™ software (Figure 2). A regulatory quality monitoring workflow for quantification of the multiple marker compounds was established.
