Cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1), encoded by the CDC2 gene, is a serine/threonine kinase ubiquitously expressed in eukaryotes. CDK1 is a catalytic subunit of a protein kinase called the M-phase promoting factor that induces entry into mitosis. Dysregulated activation of CDK1 leads to uncontrolled cell division and is a hallmark of cancer. Inhibition of CDK1 is an active research area, especially with new approaches involving PROTACs.
The AlphaLISA SureFire Human Total CDK1 Detection Kit is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of total CDK1 in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.

Product brochure for the Alpha Technology, a versatile, no wash, homogeneous assay technology that's suitable for a broad range of applications.
DNA double-strand breaks, like those induced by the widely used chemotherapy drug etoposide, trigger a DNA damage response that activates a variety of repair mechanisms, including the phosphorylation of the histone protein component H2AX. DNA damage can directly affect cell cycle progression by m ...
The introduction of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) in the early 1970’s offered researchers a non-radiometric immunoassay platform without compromising sensitivity. Over the last 50 years scientists have made huge strides in disease research and drug discovery and a demand for greater ...
