Cyclin dependent kinase 9 (CDK9) is a member of the CDK family. CDK9 was found to be a component of the multiprotein complex TAK/P-TEFb which regulates transcription elongation through phosphorylation of the C-terminal tail domain (CTD) of RNA polymerase II (RNAP II). This crucial function combined with evidence that transcriptional programs are dysregulated in cancer make CDK9 an attractive target for cancer therapies.
The AlphaLISA SureFire Human and Mouse Total CDK9 Detection Kit is a sandwich immunoassay for the quantitative detection of total CDK9 in cellular lysates, using Alpha Technology.

Product brochure for the Alpha Technology, a versatile, no wash, homogeneous assay technology that's suitable for a broad range of applications.
CDK9 is an attractive target for cancer therapeutics due to its crucial role in transcription regulation, particularly of short-lived anti-apoptotic proteins such as MCL-1 and XIAP which are critical to the survival of cancer cells. One approach for specifically degrading CDK9 is using a proteoly ...
The introduction of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) in the early 1970’s offered researchers a non-radiometric immunoassay platform without compromising sensitivity. Over the last 50 years scientists have made huge strides in disease research and drug discovery and a demand for greater ...
