This bead kit can be used for many applications, including:
In a typical AlphaScreen assay, one biomolecule of interested is biotinylated and associates with the Streptavidin-coated Donor beads. The AlphaScreen Protein A Acceptor beads are used to capture an antibody. The assay is set up to bring the Donor and Acceptor beads are brought into proximity. Excitation of the Donor beads causes the release of singlet oxygen, which diffuses and triggers the emission of light from the Acceptor beads when in proximity. The amount of light is directly proportional to the degree of interaction. This kit contains enough reagents to run 500 wells in 384-well format, using a 25 µL reaction volume.

Product brochure for the Alpha Technology, a versatile, no wash, homogeneous assay technology that's suitable for a broad range of applications.
AlphaScreen™ MAP Kinase Assay was designed to measure ERK1/2 MAP kinase activity present in purified enzyme preparations or in cell extracts. The assay was developed using a very active ERK1 preparation. However, it can easily be applied to ERK1 extracted from other sources and to other MAP kinases. ...
The introduction of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) in the early 1970’s offered researchers a non-radiometric immunoassay platform without compromising sensitivity. Over the last 50 years scientists have made huge strides in disease research and drug discovery and a demand for greater ...
AlphaScreen™ is a homogeneous, luminescent proximity assay useful for studying a wide variety of biomolecular interactions. Here, we report the development of an AlphaScreen p38 kinase assay by monitoring the phosphorylation of activating transcription factor 2 (ATF-2).
