The MaxSignal® Deoxynivalenol Immunoaffinity Column (IAC) kit is designed for quantitative analysis of Deoxynivalenol using HPLC or LC-MS/MS.
false falseThis kit is intended as a screening tool for research use only, and not intended for clinical diagnostic use.
This MaxSignal Deoxynivalenol Immunoaffinity Column can selectively extract Deoxynivalenol (Vomitoxin, DON) from the sample solution, thereby purifying the sample. The purified sample solution can be directly used for HPLC or LC-MS/MS analysis after concentrating with nitrogen gas and re-dissolved in suitable solvent.
Deoxynivalenol belongs to the trichothecene family and is produced by some Fusarium species. Vomitoxins are mostly distributed in grain seeds such as wheat, barley, and corn, and its content is usually in the range of mg/kg. Due to their high cytotoxicity and immunosuppressive properties, they pose a health threat to both humans and animals.
The basis of the IAC measurement is the antigen-antibody interaction. The antibody is embedded in the column. After a sample is extracted and filtered, it is slowly passed through the IAC. The toxoids bind to their corresponding antibody in the column. The IAC is then washed to remove unbound substances. The toxins are then eluted with the eluent, concentrated using nitrogen gas, then injected into an analytical instrument for detection. Affinity columns can be used in combination with HPLC and LC-MSMS to achieve rapid testing, and to increase signal-to-noise ratio and improve the accuracy of the detection method.
This kit is manufactured to the international quality standard ISO 9001.

Combination of Immunoaffinity Column with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) or LC-MS/MS is a quantitative method for the detection of mycotoxins in samples such as grains, nuts, feed, dairy and more. Samples are purified by the column and then analyzed with HPLC or LC-MSMS.
