The Special Optical Glass Semi-Micro Cells are widely used for UV/Vis analysis. The have the same outside dimensions as Macro cells, but their cell walls have been thickened slightly, limiting the cell interior width to 4 mm with a base thickness of 3.2 mm. Each cell has two clear windows and either a lid or a stopper. While the outside dimensions of Semi-Micro cells with Stoppers can differ from those with Lids, the path length and volume are not affected.

The Special Optical Glass, or SCHOTT type UK 5 glass, is made from exceptionally pure raw materials. An empty Special Optical Glass cell offers a transmission of more than 80% over a spectral range of 320 - 2,500 nm. These cells are identified by a green 爱游戏平台注册登录 logo.
