The chamber is used for use with the following IVIS® Imaging Systems: IVIS Lumina, IVIS 100, IVIS100TE, IVIS 50, IVIS 200 and IVIS Spectrum. The purpose of the chamber is to provide biological isolation of anesthetized mice or small rats while they are being imaged. This isolation is accomplished by filtering the gas mixture going into the XIC-3 as well as the exhaust gas coming from the chamber. The XIC-3 is a sealed box which should not be opened within the confines of the IVIS light-box. This prevents the contamination of the XIC-3 chamber interior by potential pathogens, as well as the un-controlled dispersal of confined anesthetic gas.
